Four You - Painted Blooms Thank You Card

Down to the Wire
Okay! We are getting down to the wire. Only three more days, (or as my daughter used to say...only 3 more sleeps) to purchase Stampin' Up! items from:
Have you stocked up on all of your favorites?

Saying Goodbye To...
Today's I've used three products that we will be saying goodbye to: the Four You stamp set, Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper, and Painted Blooms Cotton Twine.

Bonus: Both the Painted Blooms DSP and Cotton Twine are available as Weekly Deals right now.

TIP:  I wrapped the butterflies with Painted Blooms Cotton Twine and tied a knot. Doesn't it make the perfect body, head and antennas!

TIP:  Use the Sweetheart Punch for a fun twist on a banner.

Gatefold and Project Life

Fun Folds
Today's card is a fun gatefold card with an oval cut out...fancy right! Wait 'til you see what else I make later this week.

Keeping it Fresh
After the tall and skinny card challenge, I've been exploring different sized cards and folding techniques. Sometimes a challenge is just what you need to kick start new ideas. We need to keep it fresh!

TIP: Check out my Pinterest board to see some of the folding ideas I've found.

Project Life
There is no stamping on this card. The sentiment is from the Happiness Is Project Life card collection. I'm telling you...the project life kits are great for card making! I used oval framelits to cut out both the sentiment and the card front to create a cute little peek-a-boo design.

The grid paper is from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. This stack coordinates beautifully with the Happiness Is Project Life Pack.

What's Up?
I used the What's Up punch for the arrows. I matched them up on both the front and back of the flap so they would look great whether the card was opened or closed.

Bonus: The Project Life Pack, Moonlight Paper and What's Up Punch are all on the retired list for 50% off. In fact, you could get all three for under $20*

  • Cut a piece of cardstock in half  the long way to get a piece that measured 4 1/4" x 11".
  • Score in  2 3/4" on each side.
  • Mat a 5 x 3 3/4" piece of designer paper on to a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of cardstock and cut in half at 2 5/8".
  • Mount both pieces to card front
  • Place open card on cutting plate on the Big Shot Magnetic Platform.
  • Using the Magnetic Platform keeps everything in place.
  • Place oval die cutting blade up in center of card. (pic 1)
  • Close card over die, sandwich with top cutting plate and run through Big Shot. (pic 2)

I Think You're Great!

MOJO Monday
Today is Monday and that means a new MOJO Monday sketch challenge. I am really getting addicted to these challenges. They certainly help me get out of my comfort zone.

I generally make standard sized A2 cards (5 1/2 x 4 1/4"). It's easy. Half a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock, score, and I'm done. But this week's challenge is Tall & Skinny, so I was forced to try something a little different. My card today is 6" tall and only 3.5" wide.

Custom Envelope
Since my card is a custom size, a custom envelope is required.  But no biggy. I pulled out my envelope punch board and voila...a matching custom envelope...genius!

Sneak Peek
Not recognizing the materials I used today? That's because I used sneak peek products from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

Isn't the paper gorgeous? It's called Bohemian. I love the richness and depth of the colors! The stamp set is aptly called I Think You're Great...and what a great set it is!

Sneak Peek items are currently only available to demonstrators. They will be available to everyone else when the new catalog goes live on June 2.
