SU Flower Shop Fancy Edge Card — In Color

Challenge Time
Today I played two challenges. The Fab Friday Challenge and the SUO Challenge

Fab Friday
This week the  Fab Friday challenge was to use to use the new Stampin' Up! In Colors — just a few or all five. I chose to use all five. At first it was a bit of a challenge (no pun intended) since I don't especially like Cucumber Crush and Mint Macaron together. While it's still not my favorite color combo, It didn't turn out too bad.

SUO Challenge #125, The Cutting Edge
The second challenge was to create a project, using only Stampin’ Up! products, with at least one of its cut edges as something other than a straight line.

I made my fancy cut edge with the Flower Shop stamp set and the Pansy Punch. I cut the front of the card base back about an inch and then attached the stamped and punched flowers.

Design Details:
  • The leaves and sentiment are from the Crazy About You Stamp Set
  • I used a piece of Metallic Gold Baker's Twine for the butterfly bodies.
  • Stampin' Dimensionals lift the butterflies off of the card front.

Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life Birthday

Sprinkles of Life for RMHC
OMG. I can't tell you how much I love the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. It's just amazingly versatile. cream...clouds...trees...flower can make so many things.

And not only is it awesome to stamp with, but Stampin' Up! donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for every Sprinkles of Life stamp set sold. So feel free to tell your husband:
You're not feeding your stamp addiction — you're helping a good cause! :-)

Card Design Details:
  • I used some retired Daffodil Delight designer paper...but you can substitute with the polka dot pattern in the current Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • Of course I had to pop the ice cream cone off the page with my Stampin' about an addiction. ;-)
  • The coordinating Stampin' Up! Tree Builder Punch makes cutting out the ice cream a breeze. The cone does have to be cut by hand. But If I can do it, anyone can.
  • The tag was created with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. You can create tags of 2" wide and of any length. I've seen it used to create bookmarks, boxes, candy wrappers...
  • I slipped some Daffodil Delight Seam binding through the tag and affixed it with a staple.

Stampin' Up! Colors and Inspiration are Everywhere

You can get inspiration for card making anywhere. Challenges, Pinterest, blogs, home decor... Today my card was inspired by the shirt we gave my husband for Father's Day.

I soon as I saw this shirt, I knew the plaid was woven in shades of Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Tip Top Taupe and Whisper White. Am I the only one that sees Stampin' Up! colors everywhere?

Card Design Details:
  • The Ship is from Stampin' Up! Traveler stamp set and the birthday greeting is from Build A Birthday stamp set.
  • I used strips of cardstock to suggest the shirts plaid design.
  • The background cardstock is textured with the Stampin' Up! Zig Zag embossing folder —I thought this gave it a bit of a "fabric texture"
  • The Pacific Point candy dots from the Brights Candy Dot package hint at the shirt's buttons.
